Thatcher Involved? - Further Cover Ups In Politician Child Sex Abuse
Fresh claims : Politics paedophile rings covered by Margaret
As if the nation's child sex scandal couldn't get any worse, the plot thickens with new claims that Thatcher herself veiled fellow ministers exploits. Allegations against the Baroness report she was told numerous times about cabinet members sordid sexual affairs, at drug-fuelled parties with underage boys.
Described as "extremely libelous and slanderous", the claims made by Anthony Gilberthorpe named countless MPs, which the Baroness chose to ignore. The Tory leader was supposedly sent a comprehensive dossier by Gilberthorpe, meticulously detailing various ministers squalid abuse, but to no avail. Some described as 'rising stars', Thatcher may not have apprehended the ministers' due to the damage it would cause her party.
Gilberthorpe said he himself was asked to target minors, for the entertainment of the ministers. Other shocking recruitment bids involved the crudely titled 'chicken rack' set of railings at Piccadilly Circus, where boys as young as 13 were scouted and groomed by the members involved.
Ties with Savile and Thatcher's support for his knighthood do not bode well either. Her Private Secretary Peter Morrison was also connected with the Bryn Estyn children's home, one of the many places involved with Savile's sex abuse crimes. Further reports even suggest Thatcher kept paedophile claims against a certain bishop out of the media, because she "cared about the church".
Similar allegations surrounding Parliament and Westminster were reported by social service worker David Tombs. Much like the avalanche of victims to come forward after the Jimmy Savile case, Tombs spoke out after the arrest of Peter Righton in the early 90's.
From records from police enquiries, suggested child abuse was clear to Tombs and involved people of the highest levels. Shockingly his alerts to the scandal were thwarted with the reasoning there were 'too many' paedeophiles named to handle, and that tackling the problems would lead to nowhere. Due to the amount of power and authority that many of the names held, all of Tomb's admonitions were disregarded.
So what does this say for society? If we started to use this kind of reasoning with all crises, then the ranks of terrorists, murderers and rapists would multiply, because there was "too many" to handle. It seems the powerful felt powerless against these numbers, and ironically took the childish way out, to bury your head in the sand and hope they go away.
Aside from the back-stabbing, slander and political manoeuvring of the Who's Who? of these child abuse rings is ignorance of the real crisis. Often forgotten in the whole business of gossip, slander and speculation are the victims of these cases.
Surely the high number of these people meant it was even more important to tackle the problem head on. If allegations prove true or untrue, we have to hope that if justice is not served for the victims gone before, we need at least to stand up and take note of further abuse. Protect those at risk now, the ones who cannot protect themselves: Children.
