The alleged have been caught dreaming up new ways to get access to children, including the possibility of adopting a Syrian refugee child to groom for abuse.

The shocking details of what an undercover Sûreté du Québec police officer discovered as he infiltrated the pedophile group, allegedly led by 70-year-old Montreal resident André Faivre, who is accused of sending children to wealthy western elites.

Faivre faces a long series of charges including allegations he sexually abused children and possessing child pornography.

He was arrested on an. 27, 2016, along with more than a dozen other pedophiles who were targeted in an investigation dubbed Operation Malaise.

The probe investigated pedophiles who used the internet to share child pornography.

Faivre is alleged to have launched the forum and d screened potential members before allowing them to join.

The Montrealgazette reports: Fifteen men in all were charged in the investigation, and eight have since pleaded guilty to various charges filed against them.

Faivre’s trial is in its final stages before Quebec Court Judge Yvan Poulin.

The undercover officer who infiltrated the group testified at length earlier this year.

In order to protect his identity, the officer testified during hearings that were not accessible to the public, but transcripts of his testimony were recently made public.

The officer recounted a long series of meetings he had with Faivre and other members of the group throughout 2015, including Dave Turcotte, 39, the leader of a Boy Scout troop in St-Hilaire who was ordered to leave the group during the SQ investigation.

The officer recounted how Turcotte invited him to become a monitor in his troop even though he had infiltrated the pedophile network by posing as a man who was attracted to 10-year-old boys.

One of the more eyebrow-raising conversations the undercover agent had with Faivre and Turcotte was on Nov. 16, 2015, at Faivre’s home in Montreal.

At that point, Turcotte had been expelled from the Scout troop in St-Hilaire.

He expressed regret because he said, he loved the boys in his troop.

Faivre replied by joking that there was no love involved and that it was “just sexual.”

The officer said Turcotte sounded frustrated because he had tried to join another troop in nearby Beloeil but was turned down.

“We (also) talked about the news. And at the time, the news of the day was how the Liberal government had proposed welcoming 25,000 Syrian refugees,” the undercover officer said.

“Dave brought up the idea of whether we could adopt one. And he, Mr. Faivre, said that would be a good place to recruit kids for the troop.”

It was a reference to plans Faivre had to recruit children into “a tribe” to be groomed for sexual abuse by men.

During a previous conversation, Faivre told the undercover officer that they should target low-income neighborhoods because “in other neighborhoods, kids have too much to do.

They wouldn’t be interested in the tribe.”

Turcotte was charged with three counts related to child pornography in Operation Malaise but, on May 26, 2017, he was acquitted after having agreed to follow a series of conditions imposed on him while acknowledging the SQ had reason to fear for the safety of children.

The undercover officer also recounted another conversation he had with both men, on Sept. 14, 2015, during which Faivre boasted about how he had sex with boys who never reported the abuse to their parents or the police.

He testified that Faivre and Turcotte referred to themselves as BL, short for “boy lovers” and that, as Faivre talked of his past experiences, Turcotte expressed hope that society would accept pedophiles.

“Dave became a bit mad about society’s perception of BL.

So then he asked what we could do to change the laws toward BL.

He even brought up the fact that there are laws to protect animals, but there are no laws to protect (pedophiles).

In his enthusiasm, he raised the idea of kidnapping the wife of a minister (to pressure an unidentified government),” the undercover officer said.

“(Faivre) raised the idea of going to the human rights tribunal to ask the question: what is wrong with being a pedophile given that being a pedophile is a sexual orientation?”

The undercover agent was quick to add, however, that within the same breath, Faivre said he never followed through on his idea because he knew how society would react.
