NN Exclusive: The Bulletproof Bomb Premiere New Song ‘Shoes’
‘Shoes’ is available for download now
The Bulletproof Bomb exclusively premiere their new single ‘Shoes’ with Neon Nettle, the track comes as the flipside to their second single ‘Five Green Bottles’ under Paper Round Records.
Hailing from South London, the five band members are all just eighteen years old and are still doing paper rounds, hence the label name. Equipped with guitars and catchy hooks, they are ready to spark their journey to stardom and new single ‘Shoes’ may just be the one to do it.
The single was produced by Rory Attwell in his floating studio along the River Thames and was both written and recorded by the band. Attwell is known for his work with the likes of The Vaccines, Yuck and The Palma Violets. ‘Shoes’ aims to show a new side to The Bulletproof Bomb, whilst still maintaining their trademark edgy guitar-lead sound.
‘Shoes’ showcases lead singer Joel Douglas’ distinctive vocal delivery and the band’s signature brassy sound full of clangy guitars and bass. The song talks about casual hook ups and not caring about love, as it will come at the right time anyway. Clearly the girl in question is not someone they would even consider dating as they label her a “wanker”, who’s topics of conversation don’t interest them, charming.
The Bulletproof Bomb’s self-released debut ‘Suitcase’ came out back in March to overwhelming support from Zane Lowe and BBC London, this lead to slots at Ibiza Rocks The Snow, Boardmasters, Bestival, Reading and Leeds festivals. Their second single ‘Five Green Bottles’ was also featured on Zane Lowe’s ‘Next Hype’ and ‘Shoes’ is sure to follow suit.
